How to Understand and Map the Standard vs. Desired Business Processes?

Mapping and fitting to the standard business processes for recognition and rewards

Another very important exercise during the program design would be the business process mapping, where we’ll show our key business processes to streamline the dialogue.  The process diagrams help us understand all the major actors involved, the steps they take, and it gives a better overview of the process than looking at the actual UX/UI screens.

This shows where everything starts, what each of the actors (can) do, how does the process move forward, where do decisions take place, what happens if you approve or not approve, it shows the logic of the process & the stakeholders that are affected or informed by a step or decision.

This picture is an example of a non-monetary recognition and it is probably the most straight forward business process map compared to the monetary recognition or nomination programs.  In this business process, we see the four potential actors, starting from the team member that acts as a Sender of non-monetary recognition.  Then it goes to the team members that acts as a Receiver of recognition.  In parallel, we can involve and inform the manager of the team member that is a receiver.  And finally, all other team members can see and act upon the published public recognition via the social wall functionality.

As we add more monetary or nomination recognitions, it gets far more complicated. But we will review this together with you, to understand your current (As is) and Future (to be) state, and how to best map it to meet the ultimate targets of the new programs.
