Understand How Suggested Recipients Are Determined in a Recognition Program

*Note: Suggestions will only include users who are eligible for the selected recognition program (i.e., those listed as recipients).

The smart suggestions are based on the following criteria:

  • Manager View: If the logged-in user is a manager, their eligible direct reports will be suggested firstโ€”prioritizing those who havenโ€™t been recognized recently.

  • Frequent Collaborators: Users who have recognized the logged-in user more than once, sorted by the most recent recognition activity.

  • People Not Recently Recognized: Eligible users from the same department or business unit who havenโ€™t received recognition in the last 90 days.

*Note: The โ€œSelect Allโ€ button appears only when the user starts typing in the search barโ€”it will not appear when viewing the smart suggestions list.

Recently Recognized

Beneath the Smart Suggestions, you will find a โ€œRecently Recognizedโ€ sectionโ€”showing the people you have recently recognized within the same program. This is a helpful reminder if youโ€™d like to continue acknowledging recent contributions or maintain a steady rhythm of recognition.

  • Displays up to five recently recognized individuals.
  • Helps streamline repeat recognitions.

Use Case

Suppose you are a manager planning to recognize team efforts at the end of a busy quarter. As soon as you open the recognition program, Smart Suggestions highlight team members who havenโ€™t been recognized recently, or those you collaborate with frequently.

You can immediately select one or more individuals and move forward, ensuring your appreciation reaches the right people at the right time.

*Note: All standard program rules and eligibility checks still apply, regardless of how a user is selected.

General Guidelines:

  • Each individual is listed only once.

  • No suggestions will be displayed if there are no eligible matches.

  • Suggestions appear only when selecting โ€œIndividual(s),โ€ not when selecting โ€œTeams.โ€

Smart Suggestions are designed to make recognition more thoughtful and less time-consuming. By surfacing relevant individuals automatically, this feature helps you focus on what mattersโ€”acknowledging great work when it counts.
